About
I believe that the key to a more sustainable society is to explore and foster positive connections between our species and the rest of the natural world, inspiring worldviews that define humans as a part of nature, rather than apart from it. The more humans can learn to recognize, embrace, and respect the systems to which they belong, both natural and man-made, the closer we will be to the ideal of true sustainability.
Through this blog, I explore these connections, what it really means to be "sustainable," creative ways to foster "systems thinking," interesting tools and resources to promote and facilitate sustainability, and other issues related to my personal passion for bringing humanity into harmony with its habitat which don't necessarily fit neatly into my "day job" as a sustainability professional.
I'm particularly interested in sharing examples of sustainable solutions and sustainable behavior that can serve as sources of inspiration for others. We're all part of one big system here on Earth, and when we do anything to make our own segment of that system a better place, there are positive ripples that spread. We don't each have to save the whole world--just do what we can, with what we have, where we are, to improve the quality of life and protect our shared environment. I hope you find inspiration here, and if you have an inspiring story to share, feel free to contact me.
